Inspired By Mike has closed earlier than anticipated. Dear fellow Mike Modano / Dallas Stars fans -- There have been questions as to my sudden decision to close down the site. When I recently mentioned it on a message board that I'm now a part of, I got great compliments on the site itself. For that, I'm thankful. I enjoyed making the fans happy. There are several factors involved in closing this site that I'd like to explain to you. 1. This site costs me money to keep up. I now know what Amanda of 9ine was saying in how expensive it was for her to maintain her own Mike Modano site. Web creation isn't a cheap hobby, and I'm really realizing it. This site actually went OVER the amount I pay for all of my other sites last summer, and I was literally forced to upgrade for more space. I can't afford it... I'm not getting paid to have this site maintained. 2. As much as I like Willa Ford as a musical artist, I can not, in good faith with IBM having been registered as a "child safe" site risk a child stumbling upon a review of a certain movie of hers. I do not like that she made such a movie with her knowing how much of a child abuse advocate her husband is, seemingly glorifying sexual assault (and on top of that, having the reviewer make it out to be a highlight of the movie). I've sent the review to several people and they returned emails to me stating those very words ("a movie glorifying rape"). If Mike is happy with her choices in scripts, that's his prerogative because he married her. I'm not obligated as such to support her career if it entails filming such movies. 3. I thought that this site would be a great way to rekindle some great memories I had back from 2001-2005 with Deadmarsh 18/28. That is a site that both Adam and his wife Christa (and probably their beautiful 7-year-old daughters by now) know all about. I've gotten highest of the high in compliments from both Adam and Christa, supporting the site. I had written Adam a letter in early 2001, and he actually sent me a handwritten response, praising the site and advising me with something that had gone on with an AD poser encounter I'd had on the Internet. That site, when Adam was playing, kept me so very busy. I changed the layout EVERY month! I thought that by letting Mike know about the site and supporting Mandy and the marriage when others outright refused would at least give him inspiration to send me at least an email in response (like Sheldon Kennedy did for The Road To Anaphe). Even if he said "thank you for the support," that would have been something, seeing as it's not exactly easy for a Floridian to make a website about a player in Texas and actually stay on top of the news. But that never happened, and last year when I met up with him after a practice here in South Florida, I got a grouchy "and what do you need?" Hmm. Make your own call. I do thank you all who have stopped by over the past 2 1/2 years. It has been one heck of a ride. It's time to turn the page... I'm out of here to go revamp my baby.... Deadmarsh 18/28. If you need to reach me... you can email
me here. Hate mail will be
deleted and not responded to. Thank you. Amanda
